Feb 2008 Free Flow Dance Theatre News It is a new year for Free Flow and we are busy as usual! We have just submitted our information and hope to be a registered Not for Profit Arts Group shortly! Thanks to everyone for submitting their info to be listed on our membership list! We are still gladly accepting members of course! Free Flow is in the process of becoming a Not for profit, Charitable Organization in 2008. We are asking that our long time supporters help us in this process by officially becoming a member of Free Flow Dance Theatre. The membership is free! Please become an official member by sending us the following information to keep in our membership registration log by January 31st 2008. Late Memberships are gratefully accepted but less helpful to the process.
Your Full Name There are two types of membership available.
1. Regular Member – has all the rights and privileges of membership including the right to vote on items brought forward by the Board of Directors or opened up at the annual general meeting. We are also pleased to announce our new Board of Directors! Meagan Williams, Alan Page, Jack Latendresse and Susan Williams. Thanks to you all for stepping forward to sit on the board! Call for Choreographers:
The W.I.P. (works in progress) Series in Saskatoon, Saskatchewan is looking for professional
and emerging choreographers to present original and innovative works in progress in Saskatoon.
Jackie Latendresse is the Series Coordinator.
Informal showings will take place twice a year and the season culminates in a Gala event of finished works.
The first showing of work will be on May 17th 2008 and the second batch of choreographers will be
presented in September 2008.
The Gala event is to be held in December 2008. W.I.P.’s should be an exploration using contemporary/modern or experimental style. Choreographers will receive no less than five and no greater than twelve minutes to present their work. They will be expected to speak about their work prior to or immediately after the presentation of it for up to a maximum of ten minutes. Written audience feedback will be collected and distributed to the choreographers. An honorarium will be available for professional choreographers. Billets will be provided for all out of town parties upon request. The W.I.P. Series uses the definition of a professional artist outlined in the Canadian Artists Code and used by the Canadian Alliance of Dance Artists. All artists presented will be considered for participation in the final Gala of finished works in the autumn.

We plan to include the following events in our season: International Dance Day Celebration 2008 April 27th 2pm Dance Saskatchewan Centre 205A Pacific Ave. Tickets $4.00 at the door! Various guest performers in a variety of dance styles fill this family friendly annual event! W.I.P. New Dance Series Season Opening May 17th 8:00pm, Refinery Theatre 609 Dufferin Ave. Tickets $8.00 at the door. Contemporary Works in Progress by several different choreographers. Back Alley Antics July 19th – 7pm Various locations in the back alley ways of the Broadway District in Saskatoon. Donations gratefully accepted! Watch for Free Flow Dance Theatre in a variety of capacities this year including dance and theatre festivals! Stay tuned for more details! Free Flow will also be collaborating as a part of the Vaudeville Collective with FadaDance from Regina! We are very much looking forward to joining forces with this fabulous group of gals in the further development of both companies Vaudeville based projects.
